Poppin' the Cherry: The LOUD Guide to NYFW for First-Timers

Ahh, September is upon us. The season of pumpkin spice, kids dreading the end of summer, and most importantly, new designs from the fashion gods. Not only does the ninth month of the year signify the release of the fashion world's biblical equivalent, but it also, makes way for the highly coveted New York Fashion Week. With designers scrambling to get their Spring/Summer '16 collections ready for viewing and critique, fashion week-goers are anxious to see how the new changes made to this legendary week of events will affect this season and so forth.

Breaking away from a long-time partnership with Mercedes-Benz and leaving its previous home of Lincoln Center, NYFW is under new management by talent firm IMG, which has stepped up to the plate to take command of the planning for the gist of the NYFW festivities. While the Skylight at Moynihan Station has been chosen to stand as the new 'tents' in conjunction with Milk Studios and Skylight Clarkson Sq, many shows are scattered all around the Big Apple.

Even with all the big changes happening this season, some things are sure to remain the same. For this reason, I've decided to prep first-timer NYFW attendees with this LOUD guide just in time for fashion week. Enjoy!

Jiggy Influence: ASAP Rocky and Chanel Iman Pose for Vogue September Issue

For anyone who follows the world of high fashion, you know the empirical importance of the September issue of Vogue. The content of the September issue serves as a fashion bible for the year, with editorials and articles carefully curated to lead, inspire and set the tone in fashion until the next September issue comes around. This particular issue holds so much weight in the fashion world that there's even a documentary dedicated to detailing it's production from inception. With all considering, it is a great deal that ASAP Rocky, a rapper that represents the streets and lifestyles of Harlem, was chosen to be featured in one of their game-changing editorials alongside his supermodel girlfriend, Chanel Iman to contribute to the landscaping of the high fashion world.

The power couple both known for their individual efforts and contributions to the fashion world joined forces to give some Dirty Dancing realness while effortlessly modeling (::COUGH:: selling the shit out of) their tango-esque,  designer garments with an air of sexual energy.

Huh?!?: Beyoncé Drops New Album Out the Sky

What a PR stunt and early Christmas gift rolled into one!

Beyoncé decided to randomly drop her fifth album, Beyoncé, last night because...you know, she's Beyoncé. This album is being labeled a "visual album" being that it includes 17 music videos to accompany the 14 tracks on the album. Very reminiscent of what Mrs. Carter did for her B'Day album except she decided to do it all in one shot sans the deluxe version.

Honestly, I have no more words. This album has made me gone full on retarded. So much info is still being unveiled about this album every minute. I can't. At all. Beyonce got me all fucked up. Just go and enjoy trying to take in and comprehend all this randomness that is Beyoncé.

'Tropico': Lana Del Rey Calls On Shaun Ross For New Short Film

So, it looks like we'll be getting another short film from Lana Del Rey before this year comes to a close. Tropico, the title of her upcoming piece, is being directed by Anthony Mandler, who worked with Del Rey in the past for "Ride" and "National Anthem. Mandler is responsible for some very lucid and dark cinematography with Tropico being no exception. This time around, Miss. Del Rey has decided to call on model, Shaun Ross, to play opposite of her.  If the trailers and promo posters are any true indicator, the short film seems to have a lot of Adam & Eve/"Paradise Lost", youth driven, and malevolent-but-striving-for-the-light themes seen running through it. Tropico definitely looks like a mash up between "KIDS" and "City of God".

From the trailer, you can see that the gears have shifted away from Lana's usual image. Not by that much being that Del Rey gives a 1950's woman-behind-closed-doors feel. Even still, it's surprising to see Del Rey depicted as a stripper. This is why I love Miss. Del Rey; she gives us so much range and plays with so many elements flawlessly. The contrast and stretch in character from her regular disposition is always entertaining. Shaun Ross is really putting on his acting shoes, as well, as he comes off as this dominant, aggressive male in this piece. Much different from the regular, RTR (ready-to-read) version of him.

MCM Everyday: Don Benjamin

Get ready to throw your panties at the screen. No, I'm serious. This is a legit warning for the upcoming beautiful, fineness about to pop up on your computer. I'm sorry, but I broke down and had to dedicate a whole post to this sexy ass man.

If you watched the latest season of Tyra Banks' ANTM, you saw this beautiful piece of a man competing against...a bunch of other people I wasn't paying attention to because I could only focus on Mr. Benjamin. It is actually ridiculous how good-looking this man is. Not only that, but he is incredibly good at his job. I found myself taking note of some of his modeling tips.

Ok, enough of the small talk. Let's get right to the drooling, blushing, and panty throwing.
